After pondering it for sometime, I’ve decided to add a “sideblog” over on the left-hand column as an experiment. The sideblog will have little snippets and links for things that don’t necessarily fit in with the primary focus of this blog as a whole, but that I want to blog about regardless. The look of the sideblog may change as I play with it, or it may go away completely if I decide I don’t really want it. We’ll see. :-)

As you can see the look of the blog has changed dramatically. This is because I have ported A Pilot’s Blog to WordPress. While the old software, Nucleus, was running the blog very well, it had been nearly a year since they last issued an update. I decided that it would be best to move to a more “mainstream” and regularly maintained blog engine. The most important thing for any readers that I might have out there is that the permalinks have changed. If you happen to be linking to one of my posts, please check that post and update your link.

I may still be tweaking things here and there, and if any other major changes come about I’ll let you know.

I apologize for the lack of updates lately. Real life has been a bit busier as of late, and should hopefully return to normal in a week or two. As for the previously daily “PIcture of the Day” entries, I’m working up something different for that in this new year, so those will stay a bit stagnant for awhile.

If anybody actually reads this, thanks for your patience.

I’ve added a new link on the sidebar to Airline Pilot Central. This site has been in my bookmarks for quite sometime, and is a world of information for folks interested in finding out about the current employment prospects and salaries for different world airlines. For example, if you go to “Cargo” and then “UPS” you’ll see that the top pay for a Captain on any of their aircraft types is $224/hour. I think I could get used to a salary like that. :-)

You might notice that you can no longer see the “Picture of the Day” entries on the main page. I’ve done this because I don’t always write a normal entry every day, and the PoD entries were pushing stuff off of the main page too quickly. Therefore, in order to see the PoD entries (until I decide where to put a proper link) you will need to select the “Picture of the Day” category from the left-hand menu.

Just a quick note to (any) readers I might have, I’m trying to clean up a bit from the previous blog that was here, and in doing so I’m resetting the post/comment/etc id numbers in the database over the next day or so. If you have linked to anything here and that link no longer works, please double-check the id number in the link as it may have changed.

Welcome to the latest incarnation of MrPilot.org. I have decided to completely abandon the previous stale blog and begin anew. My focus has changed from a little bit of everything, to just straight aviation. I will (hopefully) blog about aviation news, my flight simulator adventures, and my favorite pictures from the absolutely wonderful Airliners.net. Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoy the change.
