Most Dangerous Landings

Virgin Atlantic Safety Video

Courtesy of the Airliners.net forums, I found this capture of what is supposedly the pre-flight safety video shown on Virgin Atlantic flights. This is probably the most unique safety video I’ve seen, and is sure to capture your attention quite well, just as it should.

You can view it here on YouTube.

Amazing 747SP Landing

While skimming the Airliners.net message boards today I found a thread with a wonderful video of a South African Airways Boeing 747SP landing at a very small airport outside Johannesburg, South Africa. The aircraft is to be used as a static exibit at a museum there. As you watch the video, keep in mind that the runway is about 50 feet wide, and the landing gear width on the 747SP is about 36 feet.

A 747-200 also landed at the airport prior to the 747SP, and you can see pictures of that as well as a narrative by the pilot here.
